LETTER OF APPRECIATIONWhen you want to send thanks to a person or company and need to write a letter of appreciation, you want it to be professional and formal, but how do you do this? There are several ways you can do show your appreciation.

When starting your letter of appreciation, it is always important to start by putting the date of the letter in the top left corner of your paper. That should be followed by your full name and address after you skip a line. Lastly you should skip another line and put in the salutation you wish to use to begin your letter.

After you have entered a proper salutation to whomever it is you’re writing to, you must state the reason for your letter. Briefly give them an explanation as to why you are writing along with a polite thank you. Keep it short and sweet before going into greater depth. From there you can go on to explain in more detail why you are sending the appreciation, explaining how what they did for you helped you and others involved. if they gave a donation, tell them how it was put to use and explain who or what will benefit from it.

The next step is to give your letter of appreciation a conclusion. This is important in anything you write. You will have a beginning, middle, and ending. This is the ending of the letter and it should include a recap of your gratitude for their help and how much their contribution is going to help your cause. Be sure the recipient knows how thankful you are for what they have done and give another brief explanation of how their donation of time and/or money will help you reach your goal whatever it may be. This is always a valuable portion of a letter of appreciation.

Lastly, you will need to sign off. In order to do this, you will want to formally sign off with a valediction for a formal letter and then you will sign it with your personal signature. If your letter is simply personal, you can sign off by such salutations as ‘yours truly’, ‘respectfully’, or even something such as ‘warm regards’ before you sign your name to it. On a formal letter you should type your full name under your handwritten signature just in case your signature is like that of a doctor and unreadable.

Follow those steps and you will be able to write a letter of appreciation easily. The person who receives the letter will appreciate the time you’ve taken to write it and make it worth reading. You will put a smile on their face and they will be willing to help you again in the future.
